Full Council, 20 March 2013, to be live streamed
Arun District Council's Full Council meeting on 20 March 2013 will be live streamed on the web. It will be available to members of the public from approximately 6pm. This will be the first time one of its council meetings will be 'broadcast' (webcast) live on the internet.
At this public meeting, Councillors will be considering several major issues which will affect the district and everyone in it for many years to come and felt it would be appropriate for as wide an audience as possible to witness the decision making. Items on the agenda will include consideration of Arun’s Draft Leisure Strategy, the Bognor Regis Regeneration Scheme and the Arun Local Development Plan. The issues covered will range from the future of local leisure facilities and St.Modwen’s plans for the Regis Centre and Hothamton sites to the blueprint for housing development in the area until 2029 and beyond.
Chief Executive of Arun District Council, Nigel Lynn, said: “The public interest in each of these three key items is extremely high, and we are conscious that the public gallery in the council chamber can only accommodate 150. We have decided to make the proceedings available via a webcast so that those who can access the internet can follow the meeting as it happens. This is a first for Arun and follows our commitment to look to new technology for communicating with our residents.”
Please note that whilst every effort has been made to ensure that the technology is in place, and tested in advance, we can not guarantee this facility in the event of any circumstances beyond our control.
